YourAI Tutor — Privacy Policy

YourAI Tutor is a browser extension that suggests which AI model or setting to pick while you type on ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) or Claude (claude.ai). This policy describes exactly what it does and does not do with data.

What is sent off your device

To produce a one-line suggestion, the extension sends the following to our hosted advice service (a Cloudflare Worker we operate), which forwards it to the language model that generates the suggestion:

• The text you are currently drafting in the ChatGPT/Claude message box, capped at 2,000 characters and sent only after the draft reaches about five words.
• Which site you are on (chatgpt.com or claude.ai).
• Which of the two products you appear to have, and which model is currently selected, expressed as short keys (e.g. claude, chatgpt) — never any account identifier.
• Whether you are signed in, as a single true/false value.

Nothing else leaves your device. The text is used only to generate the immediate suggestion; it is not stored after the response, not used to train models by us, and not associated with any identity.

What is read but never sent

• Login-cookie presence. To tell whether you are signed in to ChatGPT/Claude (so it can suggest switching products and avoid recommending a sign-in-gated control while you are signed out), the extension checks only whether the sites' authentication cookies exist. The cookie values are never read, stored, or transmitted — only the resulting true/false.

What is stored on your device

• Local storage holds only the set of products it has seen you use and the timestamps it saw them (e.g. { claude: <time>, chatgpt: <time> }), so cross-product advice survives the browser restarting the extension. No cookie values, no message text, no personal information is stored.

What we do not do

• No analytics or telemetry. The extension sends no usage tracking of any kind.
• No selling or sharing of data. We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties beyond the model provider needed to generate the suggestion.
• No advertising.
• No personal data collection. We do not collect names, emails, account IDs, browsing history, or location.
• No page modification. The extension only reads what you are drafting and displays a suggestion; it never clicks, types, submits, or changes the page.

Data retention

The drafted text is processed transiently to generate the suggestion and is not retained by us afterward. On-device storage (the product keys above) persists until you remove the extension or clear its storage.
